Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) April 7, 2010
TRC Market Research announced today the results of a study conducted among consumers of Pennsylvania electric utility companies whose rate cap is schedule to expire on December 31, 2010. The study examined various aspects of awareness, behavior, and attitudes towards utility companies among 1,208 electricity consumers, with approximately 300 per each utility provider. Data were weighted to reflect the distribution of consumers in these market areas.
The results point to the fact that residents are still unaware of the upcoming rate cap expiration. Two-in-five consumers of electricity (40%) in these market territories say they have not seen, heard, or read anything about the rate cap expiring. And the majority (75%) says they have not received any information specific to the rate cap issue from their utility provider. Among those that do remember receiving information about this issue, only one-third think it was helpful, provided tips for saving energy, was easy to understand, or showed that the utility is looking out for its customers.
