Tragic Death of Reformed Gang Member Leads to Development of Documentary into Former Football Star’s Prisoner Rehabilitation Program

Former NFL-er Jim Brown is known for many things including several NFL records and induction into multiple Halls of Fame, but what many do not know is that his latest project has helped to transform the lives of many former inmates and gang members. Financial Producer Bill Starkov is hoping to take Brown’s life-changing program and develop it in a documentary or docu-reality series, which will help to bring focus to the Amer-I-Can program.

Brown founded Amer-I-Can in 1988 with the goal of helping to enable individuals to meet their academic potential, conform their behavior to acceptable society standards, and to improve the quality of their lives by equipping them with the critical life management skills to confidently and successfully contribute to society. Many of the individuals who have gone through the Amer-I-Can’s 15 chapter, 60 hour self esteem and life management course are former inmates and gang members.

Starkov wants to tell the story of these former inmates and gang members who are now living full lives and helping others to do the same thanks to the Amer-I-Can program. Their lives will be followed as they make the decision to enter the program, through its various steps, and as they adjust to life after the program and the paths down which they will choose to go.
