A community powered web series showcasing everyday people following their dreams.

Passionate people jump off the screen and touch me in a profound way

The Dog and Pony Show is proud to unveil a new web video series, powered by a community of passionate individuals following their dreams. Half web series, half social network, The Dog and Pony Show is a mashup which offers users a unique opportunity to meet and interact with fellow dreamers, share their story, offer advice, find inspiration, and even star in the next episode of our web series.

"Passionate people jump off the screen and touch me in a profound way" states Darold Black, creator of The Dog and Pony Show. After 25 years as a producer/director, it was this revelation that inspired Darold to follow his dream, which was to travel across North America and film folks who are challenging themselves to follow their hearts. He was looking for stories of courageous people willing to take risks and follow their passions, and to find these people Darold traveled through North Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada and Wyoming - 10,000 miles in 7 weeks.

Once the pilot was complete, Darold once again hit the road and began pitching networks from New York to LA. Although everyone liked the pilot, and initially several exciting opportunities emerged, no deals prevailed. "It hasn't been easy, and it hasn't been quick" says Darold, a motto familiar to anyone who has attempted to pursue their passion, but convinced of the power of the concept Darold pressed on to follow his dream, and decided to bring the show to create a web series.

"The Dog and Pony Show is a show about our viewers, and merging the show with a social network concept allows us to involve these viewers on a very personal level" states Matt Cox, Technical Director for The Dog and Pony Show. It's this level of involvement which makes the site unique, as every member is empowered to personally share their dream and journey with the community, out of which the most passionate and interesting will be chosen as future episodes of our web series.

The Dog and Pony Show to provides a home for dreamers and arm-chair dreamers everywhere, and showcases the often overlooked heroics of everyday people following their dreams. Keep those dreams alive!
