American entrepreneur Vic Tanon was treated to more than just a free flight when he traveled to London as part of the British Airways "Face of Opportunity" business networking promotion. He not only received a free trip to attend a business forum headlined by Sir Roger Bone, the President of Boeing's UK division and the UK Business Ambassador, but also was able to re-kindle a friendship with London-based businessman Brian Keegan of the 360-Group.
Tanon's company, Emplicity (http://www.emplicity.com), was founded in 1995 in the US to provide outsourced alternatives to a traditional human resources (HR) department for entrepreneurial startups and other rapidly growing companies. Since then, the company has evolved into a turnkey professional employer organization (PEO) that supports management and labor law compliance, payroll administration, and employee benefits.
"Our company's mission is really to help simplify life for business owners and managers and to provide the crucial benefits that will help companies attract and retain top-notch employees," said Tanon "When I came to London I was hoping to visit a Saville Row tailor for a nice new suit, but my conversations with Brian were just too exciting to drag myself away. Maybe on my next trip I'll get a suit," he joked.
While in London for British Airways' "Face of Opportunity" program, Tanon reconnected with Keegan who was a classmate in the Entrepreneurial Masters Program at the Sloan Business School in Boston in 2006. The two businessmen had been looking for ways to expand globally, and, in a landmark accord, Keegan’s organization, the 360 Group , will provide employment and human resources services to Emplicity’s clients in the UK.
Reciprocal services are provided to Keegan’s clients doing business in the United States by Tanon's Emplicity. Because of the trust born of personal relationships made stronger by face-to-face interactions Tanon and Keegan believe that their ability to partner with each other will help their demanding and busy clients function better in a world of confusing borders and complex immigrant worker laws.
“With the solid foundation and our confidence in the 360 Group, we can simplify the lives of thousands more employees and business owners without trying to recreate what Brian Keegan has already perfected.”
For Keegan's part, he said, “Emplicity’s attractive employee benefits and simple approach to managing HR will avail to us some prime opportunities to capture market share in the United States that we have never considered until now.”
