AvFinity offers multiple options to aviation companies for receiving weather data and the pilot alerts called NOTAMs. There's an option that fits the needs of every airline, flight department and private pilot operating in the United States and Canada.

Airlines and flight departments can choose any of multiple, cost-effective options for weather data and NOTAMs through the AvFinity Secure Messaging Suite.

AvFinity introduces multiple cost-effective options to provide weather information and the aircraft pilot alerts called Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) to airlines, corporate flight departments and individual pilots.

AvFinity maintains a direct connection into the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for feeds of the Aeronautical Information Data Access Portal (AIDAP) replacement for the legacy FAA604 weather data circuit and the U.S. NOTAM System (USNS). AvFinity also maintains a connection into NAV CANADA to provide aviation companies with easier access to Canadian NOTAMs.

Customers receive these feeds through the AvFinity Secure Messaging Suite (ASMS). ASMS retrieves NOTAM data and weather information from AIDAP and distributes them to customers in XML or FAA604 format. AvFinity follows a similar process for Canadian NOTAMs through NAV CANADA.

Airlines and flight departments can choose any of these multiple cost-effective options to use ASMS to access this information for generating and filing flight plans:

  •     The AvFinity Integrated Services Router™ (AIRS™) provides AvFinity’s patent-pending connectivity software technology on a Cisco Integrated Services Router. AIRS™ is a plug-and-play appliance that offers seamless access to weather and NOTAM feeds with the option to add other services including flight plan filing, Advance Passenger Information, CDMs and more.
  •     The AvFinity Web Services option provides machine-to-machine access to ASMS™ using the traditional AvFinity network. Web Services (using AvFinity’s SOAP interface and XML) allow easy access to weather and NOTAMS without added investment in technology or development time.
  •     The AvFinity Socket Application Interface facilitates weather and NOTAM feeds with or without a virtual private network (VPN). A network socket efficiently provides aviation companies with high volume data needs and high levels of security through the VPN.
  •     The AvFinity Web Site (http://www.avfinity.com) serves as a handy, low-cost tool for private pilots who are infrequent users of weather and NOTAM services. The web site provides access to METAR and TAF weather information and U.S. NOTAMs. Individual users must set up an AvFinity account to access the data.

Users of AIRS™, web services or socket options may access information in either XML or legacy format from the AIDAP replacement for the FAA604 weather data circuit. This important option fits aviation companies not equipped to receive XML weather data and not ready to incur new technology or development costs.
