Lawrenceville, GA (PRWEB) April 9, 2010
Rock, Paper, Scissors, LLC, a full-service marketing and advertising firm, and The Sundance Co., LLC, a consumer products manufacturer, announce that Sundance’s Chill Out & About® consumer product line earned Graphic Design USA’s 2010 American Package Design Award. Graphic Design USA is a national trade publication for graphic designers. Both Rock, Paper, Scissors and The Sundance Co., LCC are based in the Metro Atlanta area.
Rock, Paper, Scissors (RPS) is a hybrid agency staffed by professionals with nearly fifty years of collective marketing, design and web development expertise. They integrate Experience, Creativity and Technology – Creating solutions that increase visibility and profitability; building brands through imagination, innovation and smart thinking.
Tiffany Hoffine, CEO of Sundance and inventor of Chill Out & About, agreed that her product line’s original packaging was “cool,” but it did not effectively show consumers that her food serving and storage system was different from other high-end plastic containers. “We needed ‘outside the box’ packaging that demonstrated our competitive advantage. In other words, why should you purchase Chill Out & About?” says Hoffine.
She explains that the easily transportable pieces not only look attractive on the serving table, but her patented system is also proven to keep foods colder, fresher and safer to eat for hours—both indoors and outdoors. The key to Chill Out & About is its refillable, enclosed ice well that envelops the line’s selection of individual, insertable serving containers. Dishes remain at an appetizing, safe-to-eat temperature without causing an unsightly mess on the table.
Hoffine went to RPS last year for help. “Our challenge,” says Cindy Sutt, RPS Creative Director, “was to convey why this product was more than just another piece of plastic-ware and to highlight the benefits—safety, convenience, flexibility, appearance—of the system’s one-of-a-kind design, with pleasing graphics that coordinated with the initial three color choices offered and potential other colors in the future.”
Quite clearly, RPS had a winning idea. “While we are delighted that our design earned us recognition from our professional peers,” says Sutt, “we are even more gratified that our contributions had a positive impact on our client’s sales.” In fact, since implementing RPS’s new packaging, Chill Out & About has enjoyed an increase in sales. There are now 7 colors to the line, and they are in 100 stores in 25 states. “The packaging helps convey that the product has serving, storage, and portability, in addition to keeping foods cool, as a way to set us apart from other products. Thanks to Rock, Paper, Scissors, consumers now understand our product and want to buy it when they see it on the shelf,” adds Hoffine. “We were so happy with the results that we had RPS design the packaging for the Party Out & About Entertaining Sets, a new addition to the line.”
