DiscountMugs.com launched a multimedia marketing campaign in January 2010 based on product description and instructional videos shot in their in-house video production studio. Four months later DiscountMugs.com has made over 900 videos that have generated over 100,000 views. They have also created numerous instructional videos on how customizable products are made and best used for promotional purposes. The multimedia marketing project dubbed “DiscountMugs TV” videocast was spearheaded by DiscountMugs.com Marketing Department and DiscountMugs.com Video Production Team. Host and video editing specialist Julie O’Neal performed one-minute long presentations of products from DiscountMugs.com extensive inventory of promotional items. O’Neal commented on the multimedia marketing campaign by stating, “I truly feel the videos we made will help customers develop a better understanding of our products and services. These videos are more than just informative; they help customers develop a more personal connection with DiscountMugs.com being that the entire project was done in-house.” The video production team also shot dozens of instructional videos designed to provide customers with insider knowledge on how customizable products are made and how they are best used for promotional purposes.
DiscountMugs.com multimedia marketing campaign was most successful on the popular video sharing website YouTube where the DiscountMugs.com YouTube Channel generated a total of 100,502 views. Instructional video topic ranged from “How to Use Water-Slide Decals” and “How Pens are Made” to more informal topics “School Prom Ideas” and “Wedding Favor Ideas”. Some of the instructional videos generated thousands of views with the most successful video acquiring over 12,000 views. DiscountMugs.com TV Channel remains popular on YouTube receiving around 13,000 visits a week.
DiscountMugs.com is continuing its multimedia marketing campaign and is scheduled to complete every product description video within the next three months. After all current products have video product descriptions DiscountMugs.com will continue shooting videos for new products. Instructional videos will continue to be produced and displayed both on their website and popular video-based sites like YouTube, MetaCafe and Howcast.
