Sydney, Australia, 9 April 2010 - SAI Global assists Goodman Fielder in demonstrating compliance with the National Self-Insurer OHS Audit Tool (‘NAT’) Program. This OHS Program defines the criteria that the Workers Compensation Authorities will use within their jurisdictions to assess OHS Management Systems of employers who are Self-Insurers.

“This approach has helped us to build upon a solid platform and becomes the next forward step for our OHS journey.” said Mr Oliver Flint, Commercial Operations Director for Goodman Fielder

SAI Global, a leading independent conformity assessment body accredited by JAS-ANZ, has awarded certification to this program to Goodman Fielder, one of Australasia's leading listed food companies.

"By meeting the demanding requirements of the NAT Program, the West Footscray site of Goodman Fielder Consumer Foods, has demonstrated that there are controls in place to help effectively manage the Occupational Health and Safety at their site,” said auditor, Peter Rawlings, of SAI Global.

"This approach has helped us to build upon a solid platform and becomes the next forward step for our OHS journey at West Footscray, from which we will share our lessons learned across our other sites nationally." said Mr Oliver Flint, Commercial Operations Director for Goodman Fielder.

An audit tool, like the NAT Program, that is based on input from all jurisdictions across the nation will help to ensure greater levels of consistency in audit reporting and in improving workplace safety.
