Forward Curves, Adjusted Continuation, Ichimoku Cloud Study, and Advanced Charting Functionality Among the Latest Additions to the SaaS-Based, Energy Data Solution

GlobalView, a leading provider of energy data management solutions, announces the release of MarketView 5.1, the latest update to its SaaS-based, real-time streaming and historical energy market data management system.

MarketView 5.1 includes many upgrades and new features, which were added in response to customer feedback. Customers can now build current and historical forward curves to evaluate the time value of money, display price expectations built into the existing prices of future contracts, and chart selected forward contracts and price trends from both current and historical data points.

MarketView 5.1’s Adjusted Continuation functionality provides users with a better view of the overall long term trend by eliminating gaps that are created when contracts roll due to the difference between contract months. Added to MarketView’s comprehensive list of studies, is the Ichimoku Kinko Hyo (Cloud) charting system which is used extensively in Asian trading rooms and has been used to successfully trade currencies, commodities, futures, and stocks.

In addition, updated advanced charting tools provide customers with a trend update feature for bar charts and an enhanced data point tracker that supports multiple plots per window and multi pane support. MarketView’s news search capabilities have been modified to now support data range queries and 730 days of archived news.

With GlobalView’s MarketView solutions suite, users can view their own customized workspace through any Web browser regardless of their location, giving them instant access to the most comprehensive set of global energy real-time and historical data, proprietary data, Dow Jones news, advanced charting, and analytical tools. With MarketView you can also export data into Excel, view pricing information on your mobile device, and deliver market price data to your back office systems including ETRMs, confirmation, invoicing, and EDP systems. This fully hosted, SaaS-based application helps customers manage support costs by eliminating additional requirements for on-site technology infrastructure.
