Houston, TX (PRWEB) April 12, 2010
With the support of The Kroger Co., a portion of profits from the sale of David Joseph's award-winning album "I'm Coming Home" will once again be donated to Fisher House™ Foundation. Kroger will offer the CDs for sale at all 210 supermarkets throughout Texas and Louisiana, showcased in six-foot display units and affordably priced at just below eight dollars. The promotion is scheduled to launch in June, 2010 and Mr. Joseph is confident that significant funds will be raised for Fisher House™ Foundation.
Much of Mr. Joseph's album, including the title song, "I'm Coming Home," is written in direct support of military troops and their families. A portion of CD sales made at the Kroger stores will help fund Fisher Houses, comfort homes for injured or ill soldiers on major military bases and VA medical centers. Similar to how Ronald McDonald Houses serve families of pediatric patients, Fisher Houses exclusively serve military families, providing them housing at no cost and allowing wounded soldiers to be with their loved ones during treatment.
"We are honored that David Joseph has selected Fisher House Foundation," says James D. Wieskopf, Fisher House Foundation's Executive Vice President of Communications. "We are gratified that he shares our vision of honoring our military service men and women and their loved ones."
The Kroger promotion is Mr. Joseph's second Fisher House fundraising cooperative with a major retail outlet. During March, April and May, 2009, the artist joined forces with Hy-Vee, Inc., whose stores also promoted the sale of his eleven-song album. To date, that successful program has resulted in several thousand dollars being donated to Fisher House Foundation.
Mr. Joseph has always been passionate about his support for the military. After eighty performances at forty military bases across the country and 25,000 free DVDs distributed to troops and their families, Joseph sought a way to give a greater gift to the military community.
"It was after a performance at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC), a trauma facility in San Antonio, Texas, that I had the opportunity to meet some of our nation's most severely wounded heroes," Joseph recalls. "The experience had a deep, moving effect on me. BAMC showed me just how important it is for wounded soldiers and their families to be together during the long road to recovery."
