Pictometry International Corp. will launch new visual information technologies for print and broadcast media at this year’s National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Conference, April 12-15 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. New products include Pictometry Online® and Pictometry’s state-of-the-art 3D Modeling capability.

Pictometry technologies for broadcasting professionals launched earlier this year with imagery from around the world. Since then, news producers, editors and executives from the major networks and affiliates have become first adopters of the technology.

Pictometry will also showcase its expertise in post disaster image capture (most recently used in Haiti to aid in post-earthquake recovery) as well as its new real-time image capture system. Pictometry disaster imagery is typically captured after natural disasters and other large scale incidents and can often be compared to pre-disaster imagery already catalogued and time-stamped in Pictometry’s extensive global image library.

“Nothing conveys a message more clearly or with more impact than a stunning 3D-like Pictometry image,” said Dante Pennacchia, Pictometry’s Chief Marketing Officer. “Pictometry’s locationally accurate birds eye imagery enhances any story by giving audiences a powerful visual image to communicate the news and bring locations to life.”

Originally developed for public safety professionals, today, Pictometry images are used daily in 9-1-1 call centers across the country to enable call takers to accurately visualize landmarks, locate callers, and more effectively dispatch resources. Pictometry image solutions are also being developed for a number of commercial industries as well -- from insurance and construction to utilities and hand-held golf devices. The company has a fleet of 52 planes and international licensees around the world and has become the largest source of birds eye imagery for consumer use on the Internet.
