You don’t need a hammer to help build Habitat for Humanity homes. This partnership with Just Better Art shows that you can support Habitat using an easel or even a mouse," said Sarah Brachle, Executive Director, DuPage Habitat for Humanity.
Lisle, IL (PRWEB) April 14, 2010
As the name of the event implies, Art is at the Heart of this charitable event. Those living in the Chicagoland area as well as others across the country can donate to this worthwhile cause. There are two unique ways to participate and make a difference in “Art From The Heart” and both ask participants to . . . Start with the Art! Those living in the greater Chicagoland area are invited to bring framed art currently collecting dust in their home to the Just Better Art headquarters at 1958 Ohio Street in Lisle, Illinois from April 12th through the 17th during the hours of 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. In exchange for the donation of art, Just Better Art will give each person, a $25.00 coupon and a FREE, new piece of art-on-canvas for each piece of art donated. All donated art will be resold in Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity ReStores throughout Northern Illinois. Limit (3) coupons and pieces of art per person. Just Better Art asks that all art donated be framed and in relatively good condition. No posters please.
Can’t make it to Just Better Art with your donation? Not to worry. For those who want to contribute but are unable to donate art at the Just Better Art Lisle office, simply use the promo code “habitat” when shopping for art online at http://www.justbetterart.com. Just Better Art will donate 25% of your purchase during the event period to Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity.
“Just Better Art is proud to partner with Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity. It is my hope that all of the art donated as well as the 25% of designated online purchases at justbetterart.com during the event period will create much needed funding to benefit deserving families in and around the greater Chicagoland area,” said Nick Madori, President of Just Better Art.
Madori is no stranger to giving back to his community time and time again. Over the past several years, Just Better Art has been providing art to deserving families not just in Northern Illinois, but also across the entire country as a regular contributor to the ABC show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
“You don’t need a hammer to help build Habitat for Humanity homes. This partnership with Just Better Art shows that you can support Habitat using an easel or even a mouse. Your support will help Habitat for Humanity build and renovate homes for limited-income families throughout Chicagoland,” said Sarah Brachle, Executive Director, DuPage Habitat for Humanity.

About Habitat for Humanity in Chicagoland
The Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity affiliates work in partnership with people in need to build modest and affordable housing by building and renovating houses using donated materials and volunteer labor. These houses are then sold to limited income families needing decent shelter. Those who qualify must demonstrate their commitment to home ownership by investing hours of sweat equity and repaying the cost of their house through a no-interest long-term loan. This “giving a hand up—not a hand out” approach gives families pride in their accomplishment of ownership of their first home. For more information, please visit http://www.chicagolandhabitat.org
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, which has won back-to-back Emmy Awards as Best Reality Program (non-competitive), is in its 7th season on ABC. The program is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding.
