Not strictly for the educational market, Ginger’s new compatibility with PowerPoint also equips professionals with the confidence that is necessary to deliver dynamic, error free, presentations.

Ginger Software, Inc. (http://www.gingersoftware.com), the world’s leading contextual correction tool, announces exciting new features this week. Understanding the ever advancing format of education and business, Ginger Software eagerly released an update allowing compatibility with PowerPoint. Also in this recent update, Ginger announced the ability to now edit text within the Ginger Software Toolbar, which is ideal for adding content to existing sentences and making additional corrections as desired.
Knowing that many high school and higher education students often need to create and deliver PowerPoint presentations to accompany even the simplest of assignments, Ginger Software dedicated many hours to this important new feature. Not strictly for the educational market, Ginger’s new compatibility with PowerPoint also equips professionals with the confidence that is necessary to deliver dynamic, error free, presentations.
In September of 2009, Ginger Software launched its contextual correction tool designed for all users, especially for students with learning difficulties such as dyslexia, and English language learners. In addition to Microsoft PowerPoint, Ginger Software is also compatible with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Internet Explorer. In a single click, Ginger corrects misused words, incorrect grammar, and spelling mistakes with accuracy unmatched by other products. Ginger has the unique ability to decipher unusual spelling mistakes and corrects multiple errors within a sentence simultaneously, allowing users to work more efficiently.
Users accustomed to utilizing Ginger Software in its other supported applications will find that all of Ginger’s tools are also available for use within PowerPoint. This includes features such as customizable interface settings, which allows for the change of the toolbar display attributes such as background color and font style to complement users’ abilities and preferences. Text-To-Speech (TTS) functionality available through Ginger Premium enables users to hear sentences before and after correction, as well as alternate corrections and their definitions are provided in PowerPoint as well.
Whether in Microsoft Word or PowerPoint, Ginger aids students and helps them learn from their mistakes by highlighting spelling and grammar errors and offering alternate contextual options. Ginger users are provided visual feedback through the vivid Ginger Toolbar and auditory feedback is provided through Ginger’s Text-To-Speech (TTS) feature; further enabling students to learn word pronunciation and meaning. In addition, progress reporting available through Ginger Premium allows teachers and students to identify problem areas. Reports contain statistical analyses of the most frequent errors, listing them in two categories: as spelling mistakes, or grammar mistakes and misused words. The number of words and sentences corrected, and a list of repeatedly misspelled words are also provided. Through the reports, teachers can identify students’ needs, track their progress, and personalize instruction in response.
Ginger and Ginger Premium are both offered through a monthly subscription option or a onetime purchase fee. School subscriptions start at $145 for three workstations, with volume and multiple-year subscription discounts available.
