The AppZero VAA enables a single gold server-application image for instant, cross-domain provisioning of private clouds, to multiple clouds and back, giving ultimate control back to the business.

AppZero's CEO Greg O'Connor will be a featured speaker at SYS-CON's Cloud Computing Expo Conference, which is co-located at the Javits Convention Center with the International Virtualization Conference & Expo April 19-21. O'Connor's session is entitled, "Making Apps Mobile. Destination: Private, Public and Hybrid Clouds.”
In this session, O'Connor will focus on a core asset of business – the application. By making applications mobile, they can run in any cloud, move at the speed of the network and be provisioned from a single “gold” image to multiple destinations. Complete with a live demonstration of AppZero’s Virtual Application Appliance (VAA), O’Connor will show how easy it is to run server-side applications when and where you want.
Greg O'Connor will also participate in a panel titled, "Cloud Expo CEO Power Panel,” moderated by conference chair, Jeremy Geelan. This panel presentation will be simulcast Web-wide on SYS-CON TV.
“The enterprise wants to move existing applications out of the data center and across clouds without any modification,” states Greg O’Connor. “The AppZero VAA enables a single gold server-application image for instant, cross-domain provisioning of private clouds, to multiple clouds and back, giving ultimate control back to the business. We look forward to sharing some practical guidance with an audience that is knowledgeable and actively engaged in both cloud and earth-based virtualization at this year’s Cloud Expo."
Greg O'Connor, pioneering the Virtual Application Appliance approach to simplifying application-lifecycle management, is responsible for translating AppZero's vision into strategic business objectives and financial results. O'Connor has over 25 years of management and technical experience in the computer industry. He was founder and president of Sonic Software, acquired in 2005 by Progress Software (PRGS). There he grew the company from concept to over $40 million in revenue. At Sonic, Greg O'Connor evangelized and created the Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) product category, which is generally accepted today as the foundation for Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). O'Connor earned a B.S. in Computer Science at Purdue University. Follow Greg O'Connor on Twitter @gregoryjoconnor.
AppZero software virtualizes Windows and UNIX server applications for nearly instant provisioning as services across a network, on any server (physical or virtual), in the datacenter or in the cloud. First to market with a toolset for virtualizing server-side applications, AppZero has pioneered the Virtual Application Appliance (VAA), in which an application is encapsulated with all of its dependencies - but without any operating system (OS) component. The result is server applications that are 100% portable with zero footprint and performance near native levels. For enterprises and ISVs intrigued by the capital-free potential of pay-as-you-go-computing, AppZero provides a smooth on-ramp to the cloud without any cloud lock-in. Requiring no modification to existing applications, AppZero makes it technically easy and economically sensible to explore and exploit cloud computing.
