The Tryall Club is delighted to announce the appointment of acclaimed chef Kai Bechinger as the Club’s new Executive Chef. Bechinger is an internationally respected chef with more than 20 years of experience cooking at luxury hotels around the world. Over the years, he’s prepared meals for dignitaries as Britain’s Queen Elisabeth II, the Sultan of Brunei, U.S. Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and Bill Clinton, German Chancellor Helmut Kohl, musician Bruce Springsteen, and members of the Rolling Stones.
Bechinger has worked in top hotels in London, St. Moritz, and Berlin, gaining a reputation as an inventive and uncompromising chef who demands the very best. His intensive European training, combined with over a decade working as a top chef in Bermuda, Antigua and Jamaica, makes him uniquely able to create sophisticated international dishes with a Caribbean twist.
“Our meals at the Tryall Club will be prepared mainly from the gardens and seas of the Caribbean,” Bechinger says. “Having that zesty kick of the islands combined with my European training is a recipe for mouth-watering dishes.”
Bechinger is a fanatic for fresh ingredients, and will draw on Jamaica’s abundant fruits, vegetables, and seafood to create one-of-a-kind meals for Club members. He is renovating the Tryall Club’s on-site vegetable and herb garden to provide members with dishes that feature healthy organic home-grown produce. Dinner at the Tryall Club’s Great House Terrace is a sumptuous candle-lit affair featuring world-class cuisine served with the lights of Montego Bay twinkling in the distance.
Bechinger prides himself as a hand-on chef who gets involved in all aspects of the culinary experience. He’ll be conducting kitchen tours and excursions to the local fish and vegetable markets. He’ll work closely with Club members and guests to plan individually-tailored meals for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, and company gatherings. He’s also adept at meeting guests’ special dietary needs, with deep experience planning and cooking gluten free, vegetarian, and restricted diet meals. And through his cooking, he’ll share with guests his abiding love for the Caribbean.
“I do love Jamaica,” Bechinger says. “The beaches and mountains are beautiful and the people are friendly and laid-back. And best of all, the fruits, vegetables and seafood Jamaica has to offer are like nowhere else.”
