The Washington Post says “as far as Dennis Keene, there isn’t a better choral conductor around.”

After nearly two years of renovations, the first phase of Lincoln Center's overall transformation is a completely re-energized Alice Tully Hall. Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center’s main venue for classical music continues its transformation with a June re-installation of its original organ. Concurrently, the Church of Ascension is undergoing a complete renovation to install the first French-built organ ever to be installed in New York City. The Ascension’s new organ will be one of the premier organs in the world and possibly the finest such instrument in America.

In the center of this entire musical renaissance is Dennis Keene. Keene was nominated recently for a Grammy as a tribute for his work with Voices of Ascension for “Best Choral Performance” (Dennis Keene- Conductor). Known internationally through his many concerts and recordings with Voices of Ascension, his regular guest appearances as conductor and clinician, and his work as Artistic Director of the Dennis Keene Choral Festival, he has emerged as one of leading choral conductors in the world today. The Washington Post says “as far as Dennis Keene, there isn’t a better choral conductor around.”

Recognized early as an exceptional organist, Dennis Keene began musical studies and performing in his native Los Angeles. He moved to New York City to study at the Juilliard School, where he earned the BM, MM, and DMA degrees and the coveted Gaston Dethier Organ Prize as a student of Vernon de Tar. His passion for the finest in professional choral music can be traced to his early work as organist with Gregg Smith, Roger Wagner and Margaret Hillis. In addition to his work with Voices of Ascension and the Dennis Keene Choral Festival, he continues as Organist and Choirmaster of Church of the Ascension in New York City.

Dennis held his first concert after the Grammys to a sold out crowd at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center. “The Voices Of Ascension Chorus and Orchestra, conducted by Dennis Keene, present some of the most consistently polished and satisfying choral performances in New York City," according to the New York Times. Keene will rock New York City once again on May 12 at The Church of Saint Mary the Virgin in Times Square.

The Alice Tully Hall and Church of Ascension are not the only makeovers in New York City. Keene, a classical music master also received his own makeover with help from Simon Carter London. The Simon Carter brand is fast becoming a favorite of celebrities and fashionistas as a modern day British invasion is taken place in America. Joining Dennis on the red carpet in London Chic style were fellow musicians and Grammy Nominees Jason Mraz and Alice in Chains.

“We love Dennis’s personal style. He truly is a legend in his own time. We are fortunate to have his talent and vision,” says Tim Danser, Vice President of Bagir International who represents Simon Carter in the USA. “We are truly honored he has chosen to wear a custom made Simon Carter tuxedo. It is like we have a front row seat for every performance.”
