Dallas, TX (PRWEB) April 19, 2010
Archipelago Learning (NASDAQ:ARCL), a leading subscription-based online education company, today announced the release of PSSA 4th and 8th grade science benchmarks for the state of Pennsylvania. These courses are the newest addition to the Study Island Pennsylvania Standards Mastery and PSSA Preparation program.
Benchmark exams have recently increased in use and are becoming the standard in gauging how students understand and retain lessons taught in the classroom, thus improving their learning while enhancing a teacher’s overall classroom success.
“In addition to our math and reading benchmarks for grades 3-8 and high school, our new series of science benchmark exams in Pennsylvania will assist districts and schools in the state to assess and complement end-of-year testing while providing information to guide instruction, evaluate teachers, and identify students who are likely to score below proficient on state tests,” stated Julie Huston, executive vice president, Global Sales at Archipelago Learning. “Adding 4th and 8th grade science benchmarks to our existing programs gives students in Pennsylvania an advantage in the classroom to excel and perform to the best of their ability on the PSSA.”
The Study Island PSSA Benchmark program consists of four unique benchmark tests built specifically from the Pennsylvania Assessment Anchors. For more benchmark test features and reporting capabilities, please go to http://www.studyisland.com/salessheets/PAbenchmarking_updated.pdf.
