The nation’s first retail web site for artists and artisans, Country Cooperative (http://www.country-cooperative.com), today announced the launch of its national web site with more than 20 charter members and tie-ins with cable TV and print media.
“The art and artisans marketplace is one of the last frontiers for the Internet,” said founder and CEO Bill Chisholm. “Our community generates $20+ billion in annual sales but its largely local and fragmented which makes it ideal for a national portal such as County Cooperative.”
Country Cooperative provides one member with national visibility via country-cooperative.com. Basic listings are sold in one-year memberships for $49 a year. Premium listings are offered through partnerships with targeted magazines and cable TV networks. Members of the cooperative are free to link back to their web sites.
“Everything we do is about providing more visibility to our members,” said Chisholm. “From a basic listing on our national web site, to our premium services with partners like BlueHighwaysTV and Art-to-Art Palette, it all comes back to our mission which is to help local artist/ artisans find a national marketplace for their products.”
The company has entered into a marketing partnership with Art-to-Art Palette, one of the nation’s leading arts web sites and annual magazines. Art-to-Art Palette listings will be offered as a premium service to artist/artisans who are members of Country Cooperative’s national listing service.
Said Ben Reyman, Editorial Director of Art-to-Art Palette: “This initiative is truly innovation in marketing. The proven strength of a cooperative business model combined with the reach of today’s technology empowering an under-serviced and well deserving sector of America, our artisans, artists and the communities that support them!” Art-to-Art Palette has been published form ore than 20 years and is considered to be the premier publication in the industry.
Country Cooperative launched its premium services through it partnership with BlueHighwaysTV of Nashville, Tennessee. BlueHighwaysTV has created TV billboards on their national cable network feed for use exclusively by Country Cooperative members. These 30-second spots enable artisans to economically reach a national TV audience.
Said Alan McLaughlin, CEO BlueHighwaysTV: “We think Country Cooperative fills a tremendous need both for the artists and for the buyers who before had to go to great lengths to find these products. We are happy to be one of the pioneering organizations to join the cause and help support America’s artisans and artists.”
