Hydros Bottle is the only option for consumers who want to avoid purchasing expensive and wasteful bottled water but still get filtered water on the go.
Philadelphia (PRWEB) April 26, 2010
Last week in celebration of Earth Day, recent graduates of the University of Pennsylvania introduced an innovative reusable, personal water bottle filtration system. Hydros Bottle is a filtered reusable water bottle with a built-in fast flowing filter that turns questionable water -- from public water fountains, garden hoses and bathroom taps -- into crisp, refreshing filtered water.
The Hydros Fast Flow Filter, which meets the ANSI/NSF Standard 42, quickly removes chlorine, chloramines and particulates from water as it is poured into the bottle. It takes only 20 seconds to fill the 24 ounce Hydros Bottle with great tasting, odor-free water.
“The top reasons consumers waste money on bottled water are taste, quality, and convenience,” said Aakash Mathur, CEO of Hydros Bottle. “Hydros Bottle is the only option for consumers who want to avoid purchasing expensive and wasteful bottled water but still get filtered water on the go. With more than 60 million disposable water bottles ending up in landfills every day and considering that Americans spent $15 billion dollars on bottled water last year, Hydros Bottle is important environmentally and economically.”
The Hydros Bottle is $29.99 and is available now at http://www.hydrosbottle.com.
The Hydros Fast Flow Filter lasts for 150 refills or three months. Replacement filters cost $6.99 and are also available at http://www.hydrosbottle.com.
The reusable, BPA-free Hydros Bottle eliminates the need for environmentally harmful and expensive store-bought disposable water bottles. Hydros Bottle is unbreakable and features a natural, triclosan-free antimicrobial enhancement embedded in the cap that kills bacteria which cause foul smells common in other reusable water bottles. Hydros Bottle is heat-resistant, dish-washer safe and is made entirely in the United States.
Keeping in line with the company's vision to address the global water crisis, Hydros Bottle has launched Operation Hydros. The program is committed to donating part of each Hydros Bottle sold to sustainable water infrastructure projects in rural communities worldwide. The first project is a spring water distribution system in the community of Gundom, Cameroon, facilitated through a partnership with Engineers Without Borders USA.
"We're excited to be fulfilling two vital missions with Hydros Bottle,” says co-founder Jay Parekh. “Our bottle is unlike any available in the world and will solve both environmental and practical problems for people. At the same time, our contribution from every purchase directly provides 2,000 gallons of additional fresh water for the community in Gundom.”
