CFO Renaissance Conference attendees to hear an economic and financial outlook from one of the nation’s top financial economists

The CFO RoundTable, the premier networking forum for senior financial executives, today announced Craig Alexander, Senior Vice President & Deputy Chief Economist, TD Bank Financial Group, as a keynote speaker for the CFO Renaissance Conference, April 28th, 2010, at Bentley University.

During Alexander’s address, attendees will learn the outlook for the U.S and global economy, including the key risks to recovery, as well as prospects for the U.S. dollar, interest rates, corporate profits, and commodity prices. Alexander will also comment on the recovery prospects for the Northeast economy.

“The extraordinary measures taken to revive the global economy have achieved their primary purpose, but they have set the stage for new challenges that will constrain the pace of economic expansion,” said Alexander. “Indeed, the recovery scenario is a tale of two worlds. The developed countries look very different from developing countries.”

Alexander will become the Bank’s Chief Economist in May, following the retirement of the current head of TD Economics, Don Drummond. Alexander holds a Master’s degree in economics from the University of Toronto. He has thirteen years of experience in conducting economic analysis in the financial industry. Prior to joining the private sector, Alexander spent 4 years as an economist at Statistics Canada.

He is frequently quoted by the media on economic issues and writes reports on a wide array of economic and financial subjects. In addition to his role at TD Bank, Alexander is also the current president of the Canadian Association for Business Economics.

Alexander is one of two financial keynote speakers scheduled to address the CFO Renaissance Conference on April 28th, 2010. Built to create an open and dynamic forum for CFO’s to exchange ideas, learn from peers and hear from financial experts, the CFO Renaissance Conference also offers sessions on how senior financial executives can:

  •     Create, maintain and preserve shareholder value in any economy
  •     Develop professional skills that truly matter, including leadership, team building, media relations and investor communications
  •     Build a career in clean technology, one of the most thriving and vibrant industries in Boston
  •     Plan for the changing landscape of financial reporting
