The Hitachi HT-4139 (MSRP: $34,995) is a 150 ppm desktop scanner that offers some unique capabilities into the market segment such as a second output hopper, and Tri-stream output. The second output tray is used for exception handling and for sorting out separator sheets from a batch of scanned images. Imaging 411 believes the HT-4139 is the first desktop scanner to offer this capability and at less than a third of the cost of floor standing scanners within the industry that offer multiple output pockets.

The HT-4139 is expected be one of the first production desktop scanners to take advantage of USB 3.0’s higher speed of 5Gbit/sec compared to the older USB 2.0’s 480Mbit/sec. The additional speed is utilized by the scanners ability to output three different streams of data simultaneously. Users can select from numerous output options, such as 24 bit color, 8 bit grayscale, and bi-tonal images, or outputting s color image, a color dropout image and bi-tonal at speeds up to 150ppm.

“Imaging 411 is honored to introduce the HT-4139 scanner into the United States with Hitachi. We believe this scanner represents a revolutionary change in the high speed desktop category and will be very successful here.” commented Joe Paradiso, CEO of Imaging 411.
