General ASP, the technology company behind AppliTrack, the leading web-based hiring solution in education, today announced two enhancements that immediately allow their over 1,200 school district to meet recruitment and retention objectives set forth in the “Race to the Top” Grant program.

School districts that use AppliTrack are now able to identify applicants to their vacancies who are National Board Certified. Additionally, districts may identify certain vacancies as being “High-Need” vacancies when posting the positions on their website and on http://www.K12JobSpot.com, the free national job board that is exclusive to AppliTrack school districts.

The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) recommends that States that are submitting proposals for federal “Race to the Top” funding should consider including NBPTS programs to meet the requirement for increasing teacher effectiveness and ensuring and equitable distribution of qualified teachers.

Education job seekers, due to these system enhancements, will now be able to find jobs identified as "High Need" on http://www.K12JobSpot.com, the education job board that is for the exclusive use of AppliTrack school districts.

“It is our commitment to our school district users, and prospective school district users, that we continue to enhance AppliTrack to meet the unique needs of school districts with real-time updates and enhancements. Regarding “Race to the Top”, we had the ability to read the requirements of the grant, understand that this specific requirement would benefit schools regardless of their “Race to the Top” funding status, and release two tools that we know will help our schools fulfill their obligations to their students and communities, all within one week. If these tools also help our clients comply with State “Race to the Top” grant applications, that’s a bonus!” said Abe Reese, President and Founder of General ASP.
