Domenic DiGironimo, ISBHF President, said “Street/ ball hockey is an exciting sport that requires maximum traction due to the speed of play, stops, starts and pivoting, thus the ideal playing surface is judged by its playability and safety, as well as appearance." Sport Court meets all the criteria.

Connor Sport Court International has signed a partnership with the International Street and Ball Hockey Federation to supply Sport Court® PowerGame™ flooring for the ISBHF’s championship events through the end of 2012.

The announcement was made by Ron Cerny, President and CEO of Connor Sport Court International, based in Salt Lake City.

Upcoming events to be played on Sport Court PowerGame surfacing will be the under 16 and under 18 championships to be held in Most, Czech Republic, in June, 2010, the ISBHF Junior World Championships in Villach, Austria in late June, 2010, and the Senior World Championships in July 2011, in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Sport Court high-performance outdoor flooring will host at least one additional event in 2010 at a location yet to be determined, Cerny said.

“The sport is basically hockey but played on a court rather than ice, using normal athletic shoes rather than skates, and a round ball rather than a puck,” Cerny said. “The agreement with ISBHF is another example of Sport Court’s commitment to a wide-range of sports throughout the world”

Domenic DiGironimo, ISBHF President, said “Street/ ball hockey is an exciting sport that requires maximum traction due to the speed of play, stops, starts and pivoting, thus the ideal playing surface is judged by its playability and safety, as well as appearance.

“The ISBHF has found that Sport Court’s interlocking modular system optimizes these important criteria and is an excellent product for our sport, especially ISBHF international competitions. We look forward to working with Sport Court International in the hosting of world-class championship events and in promoting street/ball hockey around the world,” Mr. DiGironimo said

Ryan Burke, International Business Manager for Sport Court, said “When ice melts in the early spring many outdoor rinks in central Europe and Canada make the natural switch from ice hockey to ball/street hockey, despite having to play on hard, unforgiving asphalt or concrete sub-bases. We look forward to partnering with ISBHF to increase the exposure of this growing sport and to upgrading the surfaces in outdoor rinks around the world with Sport Court PowerGame suspended sports flooring.”
