Born on December 25th, Althea Rene has been celebrating Christmas every day since she traded in her nightstick for a new one, which is also referred to as a flute. Althea Rene has spent the last 10 years as a Deputy Sheriff in Detroit, MI, she has become a full time Jazz flautist. Ms. Rene could have chosen a number of career paths, however, she decided to pursue her love of music.
Althea’s outer beauty is that of a model, however, in my opinion the minute she picks up her instrument, the real beauty flows. Althea Rene is signed to Red Cat/Bungalo/Universal. Ms. Rene’s hit, Déjà vu, that was recorded first by Beyonce is currently number 11 on the iTunes Jazz chart and is prominently featured in the New and Noteworthy pop section on the front page of iTunes She is also currently filming a new music video of the same name Deja vu.
This video is being released exclusively through iTunes. The filming of this video is being done at an exclusive engagement at Red Cat Jazz Café, in downtown Houston, Texas.
“Mr., Sam Pink, the owner of the Red Cat Jazz Café gave me my space here in his club which allowed me all the freedom to become the musician I knew was inside of me,” Ms. Rene said. "This is his way of helping an artist who comes to him and asks for help. I asked Sam about how many artist he has had a hand in assisting, then not to my surprise the humble man said to me he was simply grateful to observe the evolving great musicians who had graced his club with their genius."
You can download the free app for the Red Cat Jazz Café in the iTunes store, which by the way is the first Jazz club to have an app available.
