Bedminster, NJ (Vocus) April 21, 2010

The American Cancer Society will host the 3rd Starry Night Gala on May 22 at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, honoring NY JETS Executive Vice President of Business Operations, Matt Higgins.

Donald J. Trump, Executive Honorary Chair, will support this spectacular “Starry” evening, which is poised to become the most exciting fundraiser in our area. Also in attendance will be Caroline Manzo, from the Real Housewives of New Jersey.

The Starry Night Gala will be layered with two spectacular and distinct feels. The evening will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a VIP cocktail reception, and premier silent and live auctions. Attendees will have the chance to win a pair of flawless diamonds at the diamond raffle sponsored by Simms Jewelers or a 4-night stay at the Half Moon luxury resort in Jamaica. Paul Miller Auto Group will be providing high-end luxury cars for VIP guests of the evening, Atlantic Health is the Ambassador Sponsor and Madison and Bergen Jaguar are the Hole in One Sponsor, providing a 2011 New XJ for the event. During dinner, guests will enjoy exquisite views of the estate as a backdrop. Following dinner, guests are encouraged to let their hair down for a special high-energy celebrity after party.

Join the American Cancer Society in honoring Matt Higgins who was diagnosed with testicular cancer just three months after the birth of his first child in 2007. Higgins underwent radiation therapy, and as a survivor he works to raise awareness about this rare form of cancer that disproportionately affects young men.

Proceeds from the Starry Night Gala will help support American Cancer Society’s mission through research, education, advocacy and direct service programs for cancer patients and their families in Northwest New Jersey. Individual tickets are available for $500. About the American Cancer Society
The American Cancer Society combines an unyielding passion with nearly a century of experience to save lives and end suffering from cancer. As a global grassroots force of more than three million volunteers, we fight for every birthday threatened by every cancer in every community. We save lives by helping people stay well by preventing cancer or detecting it early; helping people get well by being there for them during and after a cancer diagnosis; by finding cures through investment in groundbreaking discovery; and by fighting back by rallying lawmakers to pass laws to defeat cancer and by rallying communities worldwide to join the fight. As the nation’s largest non-governmental investor in cancer research, contributing more than $3.4 billion, we turn what we know about cancer into what we do. As a result, more than 11 million people in America who have had cancer and countless more who have avoided it will be celebrating birthdays this year. To learn more about us or to get help, call us any time, day or night, at 1-800-227-2345 or visit cancer.org.
