This recognition by ADL is significant as it shows our dedication to standards. Our clients benefit because we enable them to leverage the largest content libraries ensuring they can find the best courseware, said Brian Platz, COO, SilkRoad technology.

SilkRoad technology, inc., a leading provider of talent management solutions, announced today that GreenLight, SilkRoad’s Learning Management System, has been validated by Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) as a SCORM 2004 4th Edition early adopter. SilkRoad is the first major LMS vendor to achieve this status.

SCORM 2004 4th Edition further extends the SCORM standards to give unprecedented control to content authors and learning managers over training. The 4th Edition increases course/LMS interoperability and adds a list of enhancements, which includes increased tracking information (e.g. overall student progress, objective scoring details) and the ability for activities to now share common data.

“This recognition by ADL is significant as it shows our dedication to standards,” said Brian Platz, COO, SilkRoad technology. “Our clients benefit because we enable them to leverage the largest content libraries ensuring they can find the best courseware for their needs. Additionally, their own courseware in GreenLight can be fully leveraged, saving them significant costs over time.”

SilkRoad's GreenLight LMS/LCMS is the only system that supports all major courseware standards (AICC HACP, AICC CMI, SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004 3rd Edition, SCORM 2004 4th Edition). Training managers can easily import and develop standards compliant courseware using built-in, simple to use authoring tools. GreenLight can be used to simply extend imported courseware with exams or surveys, deliver and track simple content such as Microsoft PowerPoint or other documents, or create full adaptive learning curriculum. Authoring tools built into GreenLight allow subject matter experts to easily develop and even troubleshoot advanced SCORM techniques such as sequencing, rollup, and objectives to control the content, which can then be exported to any standards compliant LMS or delivered using GreenLight's powerful LMS.
