By bringing together a passionate, committed group of leaders at the Dialogue for Action, we can help improve the lives of women around the world.
New York, NY (Vocus) April 23, 2010
Cécilia Attias, former First Lady of France and founder and executive chairman of the Cécilia Attias Foundation for Women announced today the creation of The Dialogue For Action.
On June 24th, 2010, in New York City, the first annual Dialogue for Action to take place in conjunction with the New York Forum (http://www.ny-forum.com) will bring together an exceptional group of NGO leaders, experts and influencers from the private and public sectors. This unique, interactive format provides a new platform where action-driven discussions will focus exclusively on identifying and finding solutions to the three main issues facing women per continent.
“Over the years, I have seen the work and commitment of NGOs all over the world who are on the frontlines of helping women in dire straights. They are dealing with life threatening issues from healthcare, poverty and human rights to sex trafficking and discrimination,” Mrs. Attias said. “By bringing together a passionate, committed group of leaders at the Dialogue for Action, we can help improve the lives of women around the world.”
Following the Dialogue for Action, The Cécilia Attias Foundation for Women will see that dedicated initiatives are implemented where needed. Local regional meetings will be organized as part of the follow-up in the field to assess the progress of each initiative.
WANGO, The World Association of Non-Governmental Organizations is the strategic partner of the Dialogue for Action whose global network of NGOs and affiliates has become an international leader in tackling issues of serious global concern.
“We are honored to be a part of such an important forum that will give its full attention to hundreds of NGOs around the world. This event is a collaborative step forward in providing assistance to the millions of women who are desperately in need of a lifeline,” said Taj Hamad, Secretary General of WANGO.
The International Herald Tribune (IHT) is official media sponsor of the Dialogue for Action providing panel moderation and communications support. The IHT recently launched a major editorial initiative, “The Female Factor”, to look at how 21st century shifts in women’s roles are affecting societies and businesses around the world.
The Dialogue For Action will attract a targeted audience of NGO leaders, business executives, media experts and political and academic leaders.
To ensure maximum productivity, the event will be limited to 250 participants and will be by invitation only. The Dialogue for Action will take place in New York City on June 24th, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.
The Cécilia Attias Foundation for women actualizes concrete improvement in the lives of women by serving as a strategic, media and financial platform for established NGOs, associations and foundations who champion the cause of women’s equality and well-being.
Founded in 2008 and building upon 13 years of commitment to bettering the lives of women around the world, the Cécilia Attias Foundation for Women partners with innovative, honest and hardworking charities devoted to helping women; some of which include Hour Children, Faith, Hope and Love, The Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund and the Lanaido Hospital Mammography Unit.
