Our philosophy and practice at TranZenDance Studio is, "There is no 'wrong' body for dance. The 'wrong' body is a sick body, and this can be corrected spiritually."

Pole dancing incorporates and transcends many common dance forms, such as ballet, jazz, modern, and ballroom dancing, inviting participants to create and experience a new form self-expression in the art of movement. The second annual Open House for TranZenDance® Studio will present demonstrations of this rapidly evolving dance form by both students and instructors to showcase the athletic and artistic elements of the dance and celebrate the accomplishments of students with family and friends.

The Mile High City's first professional level studio, TranZenDance® offers pole dancing that enhances overall health and fitness, while improving body awareness, confidence, and self image. Dr. Lori A. Huett, proprietor and lead instructor, describes the therapeutic power of the studio's approach: "Pole dancing provides a way for women and men to experience their bodies from the inside out. This is opposite of how most individuals experience their bodies from external cues, whether through mirror reflections, how a particular size of jeans fits, or in comparing themselves to airbrushed images in magazines." Women and men come to a new relationship and acceptance of their bodies vis-a-vis the dance. And possibly of greatest benefit to participants, these pole dancing classes encourage a transcending of body and self image issues that Dr. Huett believes "hold individuals back from living fully and proudly in their bodies."
