The Global Data Sciences team successfully completed a multi--phase system integration project which married a wide range of enterprise technologies together in order to create a cohesive and manageable shop floor control environment. "This project was comprehensive and involved tight integration between multiple systems such as SAP's BOM (Bill of Material) management system, shop floor PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and a variety of home grown and legacy systems." Michael Mantzke - CEO Global Data Sciences, Inc. The challenge facing Global Data Sciences was to identify, unravel and document the thousands of processes and components crucial to the physical manufacture of nearly 35,000 finished goods items per day. An even greater challenge was to develop an integration plan which could be implemented as a seamless running change without disruption to the daily production process.
"Going in, we knew the challenges we were facing, the complex nature of the problem we were tasked with solving and the risks. But, most important, we know we have a strong relationship with our client and we understand the nature of their business' Tony Kirkpatrick - Director of Supply Chain Logistics, Global Data Sciences, Inc.
"Within 30 minutes, all processes were running correctly and there was no operational impact. The GDS Programming and Onsite management team are to be commended on their hands-on approach in getting this done in a timely fashion along with their interaction with the plant floor personnel. Thanks for a job well done!" Greg Pemberton - Systems Manager, Continental Tire of the Americas, LLC.
