Sometimes, dealing with life may not be easy, especially for those who want the easy way out or the fastest way to get there. This is what today’s youth do not quite see or understand. They are oftentimes out of control. And author Fe L. Alberts stresses this social issue in her newly released book, Nicki Ready to Learn, a heartrending drama full of life lessons. She invites readers to accompany Nicki as she learns—the hard way—the physical and emotional dangers that are out there.
In this stirring fiction, readers will meet Nicki Sharice Jamison. Beautiful, well-educated, and spoiled, this seventeen-year-old comes from an upscale neighborhood on the north side of Chicago. She believes that there is life to be lived, experiences to gain, and more. She thinks the life experience she yearns awaits her in the streets. But has she thought right? In this gripping tale of the vicissitudes of life, readers will find out how Nicki spends her adolescent years learning from careless mistakes. She socializes with her elder sister’s friends because she wants an older guy whom she can easily finagle gifts of jewelry and money. Unfortunately, she soon discovers that not all things can be pleasantly learned or gotten over with.
Nicki Ready to Learn follows her journey of love, heartache, and pain. As she meets her dark side that needs to be tamed, it takes her to the threshold of madness, where she uncovers a family secret that none of them are ready to face.

About the Author
Raising her son as a single parent made her decide never to have another child. Being unsuccessful in love, Fe L. Alberts decided to never search for love again. As time went on, she began to question her decisions. She was unhappy and couldn’t figure out why. She begins to pray for the answers she needed and the Lord set her heart and mind free. This led her to a wonderful man, Rick Alberts, who has shown her that love should be unconditional and given freely. When a person has real love, one can weather any storm. He’s been in her life for fifteen years, nine of them they spent as husband and wife. She has a habit of keeping keepsakes for memories of things she has done and she writes notes of special times she experienced. Riding on the bus, she overheard a couple of young girls talking about the sex they had the night before, making her think about how so many of today’s young teenagers are out of control. That’s where “Nicki” originated from. She told her husband if she had a laptop, she believes she could write a book because there’s a story needed to be told. In April 2008, he bought her a laptop and she begin this story. It has taken her three months to complete. She sat and wrote the words flying from her mind. This is her first attempt at writing and she knows it will continue to flow because she has the guidance of the Lord and her husband by her side.
