NYinc magazine's inaugural Green Issue includes First-Ever Map of LEED-certified, LEED-pending, high-performance, and Energy Star-rated commercial buildings and office spaces throughout Manhattan

ScheinMedia announces that NYinc magazine has published its inaugural green issue, highlighting New York City’s sustainability community. The April/May 2010 issue can be seen at NYinc.com.

NYinc’s green coverage includes profiles of 13 “green” individuals working within New York City’s real estate, urban planning, architecture, finance, and alternative energy fields; Q&As with city planner extraordinaire Amanda Burden, Brooklyn Navy Yard CEO Andrew Kimball, and Third Avenue Real Estate Value Fund dealmaker Michael H. Wine; Cushman & Wakefield’s sustainable relocation project; the burgeoning field of socially responsible real estate investment; a report on how PlaNYC is working; and a hard look at how green New York City really is, compared to other world-class cities.

The issue introduces NYinc’s groundbreaking NYC Green Office Buildings Map, showing LEED-certified, LEED-pending, high-performance, and Energy Star-rated commercial buildings and office spaces throughout Manhattan.

“We knew that New York City was on the forefront of green building, especially in the commercial buildings arena. However, no one has compiled the data and shown it on a map to understand the depth of the movement.” says Jonathan A. Schein, CEO and publisher. “We set about the task of doing the research – the result is quite amazing. Over 70 buildings are included on this inaugural map, and we plan to continue updating the map both in our print edition and online at our website, NYinc.com, as more buildings are in the planning stages.”

Schein continues, “Our intention is to develop maps of green developments nationwide. We would like to hear from developers about their buildings to make sure that they are included on the map. For a nominal fee, a developer can pay to hyperlink from the map to the property’s website.”
