England to challenge the U.S. in a friendly competition across the pond

Bobby Cleveland - after setting the record on July 4, 2006

"If they beat my record of 81 mph, I'd love to bring the record back to the United States. I told my boss years ago that I wanted to go 104 mph on the 104+ brand mower."

Gold Eagle Co.’s Engine Answerman– Bobby Cleveland - set the land speed record for the World’s Fastest Lawnmower on July 4, 2006 at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, receiving international media coverage. Recently, the folks at Team Runningblade in England have challenged his record of 80.792 mph. Their run at the record will take place at the Pendine Sands in Wales, England the weekend of May 22.

Gold Eagle Co. has created a site (http://shouldbobbygo.com/) where people can vote on whether or not Cleveland should cross the pond to gain some racing insights and cheer on his counterpart. Also included on the site are links to charities supported by Team Runningblade and Gold Eagle, as well as various related video clips – including footage of Cleveland setting the record, interviews with his friends/family and more.

“On behalf of my fellow Americans who share a 'need for speed,' I hope folks will vote for me to go to England so I can be there to cheer them on,” said Cleveland. “If they beat my record of 81 mph, I’d love to try to set a new record here in the United States. I told my boss years ago that I think I can go 104 mph on the 104+® mower. Now I've got the 'mowtivation'!”
