Dallas Facial Plastic Surgeon Supports Nationwide Fundraiser to Cure Blindness in Africa

Leading national BOTOX® Cosmetic injector and facial plastic surgeon Benjamin Bassichis, M.D., F.A.C.S has been chosen to represent the state of Texas in a unique national fundraiser called “Vanity for Vision” to be held on Friday, May 14, 2010. All profits will be dedicated to curing blindness in Africa through the Eyes of Africa Initiative of the One World Sight Project.

The Eyes of Africa Initiative takes the growing trend of women and men getting treated with BOTOX® Cosmetic in the United States and turns it into a philanthropic call to action to end blindness in Africa. Cataracts are responsible for almost half of the 7 million blind Africans and a simple $25-50 procedure can permanently restore their sight in a matter of minutes.

The 2007 National BOTOX® Cosmetic fundraiser brought in over $200,000 to help complete the first community center for ophthalmology in Africa, as well as cure over 200 people of blindness.
