Advanced Personnel Systems, Inc. (APS), the maker of the SmartSearch applicant tracking system (ATS), announced it will offer a sneak preview of its new Version 14 release at the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) Staffing Management Conference in Buena Vista, Florida, April 25 through 28.

SmartSearch v14 features a new interface for search results that makes it faster and easier to review candidate resumes. Additional upgrades include a more powerful report writer that enables users to create and save a variety of activity and performance metrics reports from virtually any criteria in the database, enhancements to social network integrations and mobile recruiting tools, and added functionality for paperless document management and task automation.

Updates to workflow automation include the ability to associate forms, employment related documentation, and correspondence templates with the self-configurable HireTrak toolset's activity triggers. For example, users can upload a Word document, link it to an email template, and use the template as a source for an automated task such as instructing the system to send a follow-up email to candidates who have applied for a job, or to a hiring manager when submitting a candidate's resume for consideration or offer letter approval routing.

The new version also features a number of new and enhanced integrations with third-party recruiting service providers including TalentHook resume search and resume sourcing tools, Indeed job posting and search optimization, mobile recruiting and cell-phone text messaging, and "green recruiting" tools such as GreenJobInterview video interviewing and VoiceScreener phone prescreening technology.
