Holy Fire Publishing (http://www.christianpublish.com) releases Anndillia, the Gold Ladybug (Paperback, U.S. $15.00, ISBN# 978-1-60383-298-4). Brenda L. Fegenbush writes to encourage children coping with the turmoil of life changes and the struggle to fit-in to remember that “God made us all different, but we are all special in our own way."
Brenda L. Fegenbush, a pastor’s wife with a son-in-law serving in Iraq (and grandchildren living without their dad) has a heart for military families disrupted by frequent deployments and moves, and the impact on the children. Her character Anndillia, the only gold ladybug in her new town of Bugville, must learn to fit in to a new place and make friends. However, all the other ladybugs her age are jealous because she’s beautiful. She's sad because she thinks she's different and they don't like her, but they think Anndillia doesn’t like them. It turns out they do like her, and they become friends. But soon, some ladybug families are transferred by the military; yet they discover they can still stay in contact and remain friends. Anndillia, the Gold Ladybug will help children who feel they don’t fit in and those who have to move away and form new friendships because of military transfers and other changes.
All the ladybugs were buzzing around town getting everything ready for the [big parade], but all the girls were jealous because they knew Anndillia would be there and out-shine them all. They thought she was prettier than any of them, so they decided to have a slumber party so they could all get ready together. Anndillia was not invited. With the town being so small, Anndillia heard the news and was so sad. She couldn’t understand why the girls would not invite her.—excerpt, Anndillia, the Gold Ladybug
