Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) April 27, 2010
Originally produced as two previous textbook editions entitled “Soft Tissue Mobilization Techniques”, the manuals were published in 1985 and 1996. Through the previous writings and continued education courses the three Cleveland therapists, with over 75 years of clinical experience, have been educating students and peers over the last 25 years. The recent translation of the publication into the DVD format enhances the explanation and application of the techniques. Together, the book and DVD, provide the most robust training tool carefully out ling therapist position, patient position, and treatment intention.
The goal of the DVD was to provide an easily navigational tool for the therapist and/or trainer for continuing education. The DVD menus are designed to give the user the ability to navigate to individual techniques or watch an entire section. The sections are organized by body part; cervical, thoracic, lumbar, upper extremity and lower extremity so a practicing clinician can view completely or by individual technique. The observer's interest is kept through conversational engagement with the demonstrator. The conversational approach is meant to engage the student as if they were in the room observing the techniques as they are being demonstrated while the clinician provides insight into the application of the technique. Additional interest is captured through the use of multiple cameras, split screens and carefully positioned camera angles maximizing the therapeutic value of the technique while giving the observer an in room appeal.
JEMD Publications teamed up with TMP Productions led by David Chippi to complete the project. Chippi is a self-taught producer, video editor, animation creator and graphic artist. Dave leverages, AppleTM software tools, single CCD digital video cameras, simple stage lighting and wireless sound tools. Chippi creates a DVD product, which may not be Hollywood, but certainly has a professional look and feel. Soft Tissue Mobilization Techniques is produced by TMP Productions, LLC, which Chippi founded in 2003. TMP Productions, LLC produces original content DVDs including educational videos, training videos and multimedia sales collateral. Kathy Chippi, a Pediatric Physical Therapist herself, was the patient for most of the shots.
