“We’re proud to have created an event that has proved so important for our industry and so beneficial to the vital causes we support,” said Douglas Hirsch, Co-Chair of the Ira Sohn Investment Research Conference and Managing Partner of Seneca Capital.

The Ira Sohn Research Conference Foundation today announced the speakers for its 15th Annual Ira Sohn Investment Research Conference, to take place May 26, 2010, from 2:00 – 6:30 PM at New York City’s Frederick P. Rose Hall, the home of Jazz at Lincoln Center. The upcoming conference will offer an expanded lineup of speakers for the event’s 15th year.

A seminal financial-industry event, the Ira Sohn Conference was the first forum of its kind, allowing premier investors a platform for sharing in-depth market analysis and stock picks. The conference was also unique in its charitable basis, with all proceeds donated to organizations that care for children with pediatric cancer and other life-threatening and chronic diseases.

With its wide array of esteemed speakers, the Ira Sohn Conference has long proved an essential source of profitable and prescient market predictions. Notably influential presentations from the conference’s recent history have included Bill Ackman’s talk last year touting General Growth Properties, David Einhorn’s landmark 2008 presentation on Lehman Brothers, Stanley Druckenmiller’s 2005 explanation of the imminent U.S. housing crisis, and Sam Zell’s 2000 prediction of the bursting of the Internet bubble.

“We’re proud to have created an event that has proved so important for our industry and so beneficial to the vital causes we support,” said Douglas Hirsch, Co-Chair of the Ira Sohn Investment Research Conference and Managing Partner of Seneca Capital. “We’re confident that this year’s speakers will again offer money-making stock ideas and insightful takes on the market.”

Conference Co-Chair Daniel Nir, Managing Partner of Gracie Capital, added, “With this year’s expanded speaker roster and the conference’s tremendous history, this event is truly a can’t-miss for Wall Street.”

About the Ira Sohn Investment Research Conference

The Ira Sohn Investment Research Conference was founded in 1995 after the untimely passing of Ira Sohn. Sohn was a successful trader on Wall Street who battled cancer and passed away at the age of 29. His courageous battle with cancer inspired his colleagues and friends to launch the annual Ira Sohn Investment Research Conference.

Proceeds from the conference are donated to organizations dedicated to the care and treatment of children with pediatric cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. The organizations served include Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, the Tomorrows Children’s Fund at Hackensack University Medical Center, New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, and ArtWorks, an art therapy program that allows children fighting diseases to express themselves through art.
