JavaBlackBelt, a global leader in Java learning and powered by over 70,000+ developers in its global community, today announced the public release of its online marketplace for coach-assisted eLearning for Java programmers.

The online marketplace is a platform for Java eLearning where students access reviews and ratings to evaluate and select coaches and coaches can build an online business without the overhead of marketing and creating infrastructure for content delivery and payment.

This democratization of professional Java learning allows small and large learning service providers to deliver what is most important to students and organizations – effective learning guided by talented and experienced instructors and at highly competitive rates. Each eLearning course comes with its own JavaBlackBelt community exam so that both knowledge acquisition and course effectiveness are validated, which are important requirements for both students and managers.

JavaBlackBelt CEO Nicolas Meeus comments, “Since the soft/beta release last month we have been overwhelmed by the interest and excitement the marketplace has generated. Currently, the demand for courses outstrips the availability of coaches, as each coach is required to go through a rigorous mentoring and certification process before being giving access to students.” Meeus adds, “While this is a short-term challenge, this situation will rapidly improve as the marketplace scales and free market forces of supply and demand take effect.”

The marketplace was spawned from the highly successful JavaBlackBelt community for Java Learn exams where a global community of over 70,000+ developers collaborates to generate the most comprehensive collection of Java exams available. The same community-driven content creation philosophy is now employed within the marketplace to create, refine and expand content for the eLearning courses. Java technologies are well positioned for community-driven content creation, which arguably provides the only solution capable of keeping pace with the dynamic nature of Java.

Summarizing the JavaBlackBelt journey and future direction, John Rizzo co-founder of JavaBlackBelt states, “As the product cycle for Web 2.0 communities moves from hype to real business applications, JavaBlackBelt has proved to be a real-world application one step ahead of virtual classrooms.” Rizzo continues, “In the process, JavaBlackBelt has not only proven itself to be sustainable and scalable for Java learning but also equally applicable to other technologies in the software development industries, as well as other industries. Therefore, JavaBlackBelt has decided to change its name to the BlackBeltFactory and broaden its offerings. Over the coming months we will be polling our community to prioritize what those technologies should be.”
