With only a week left until the Primary Election, Republicans in Wake County have made it clear that they want Steve Henion to represent them as the Republican Candidate for North Carolina House of Representatives District 34, a seat currently held by a longtime Democratic incumbent.

The straw poll, held Saturday night at the Wake County GOP Regan Day Dinner, picked Steve Henion as their front- runner with 57% of the vote. The other candidates include Brian Tinga, who earned 31% of the vote, J.H. Ross who came in third place with 8%, and Jamie Earp in fourth with 4%. Henion won the last straw poll conducted at the Wake County GOP Convention by another landslide.

Henion, a small business owner, family man and committed civic leader, is running on a platform of fiscal conservatism and family values -- lower taxes for working families and the businesses that employ them, economic expansion for the region and the State, reduction in wasteful spending in the State budget, greater educational choice for parents, and providing a helping hand to hardworking families.
