PLS’s ongoing association with American Forests ensures that we’re putting more trees back into the ground and helping keep our country green.
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) April 28, 2010
As part of the annual company-wide declaration of commitment to environmental awareness, PLS is planting a tree for each of its more than 3,000 team members.
PLS’ annual Arbor Day observation is highlighted by its contribution to American Forests to provide for the planting of a tree in honor of each employee.
American Forests (americanforests.org), founded in 1875, is the nation’s oldest nonprofit citizen’s conservation organization. American Forests works to protect, restore and enhance the natural beauty of trees and forests.
“We’re very proud to be associated with American Forests,” noted Bob Wolfberg, President, PLS (plsfinancial.com). “Their good work integrates perfectly with our company-wide efforts to reduce paper use and increase recycling. PLS’s ongoing association with American Forests ensures that we’re putting more trees back into the ground and helping keep our country green.
“Our annual Arbor Day tree-planting is an important part of our green commitment and it’s a great way to help rededicate ourselves to greening efforts,” Wolfberg continued. “We distribute reusable mugs with an insert featuring the PLS logo and a tree. And on April 30th—Arbor Day—our ‘PLS Cares’ program will share best practices for office supply recycling.”
Wolfberg notes that adopting environmentally responsible practices makes economic sense. “This is good for business, and it’s good for the world which we all share.”
American Forests is a world leader in planting trees for environmental restoration, a pioneer in the science and practice of urban forestry, and a primary communicator of the benefits of trees and forests. The organization has earned four stars from Charity Navigator and approval from the Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance.
“We welcome this association with PLS,” said Deborah Gangloff, Executive Director of American Forests. “They’re making a foresighted and responsible statement and we encourage other corporations to offset their paper use and honor their employees in a similar way.”
