Josie Dobin of Help for Orphans International (HFOI) will be leaving for her second Haiti trip since the earthquake. She will be continuing HFOI’s work of helping out Haitian orphans and orphanages devastated by the recent earthquake.
Ms. Dobin, along with Sarah Ehrlich(HFOI’s founder) and Isabella Garcia (HFOI’s Acting Program Director), will be holding an event at Trousdale on Tuesday night, April 27th. Help for Orphans International is a non-profit organization which has assisted orphanages in India, South America, Uganda, and Kenya. HFOI has been in Haiti helping out with the relief effort shortly after the January 12th earthquake. Their program in Haiti revolves around a sustainable, holistic approach to helping the orphanages by ensuring the immediate and future needs of Haitian orphans are taken care of.
“I’ve seen the difficulties these orphanages had in providing food and water, sleeping areas, etc. for the children,” Ms. Dobin commented. “We have a great program to help rebuild the orphanages and really help the children. I just knew it was time for me to go back.” Haiti was said to have approximately 380,000 orphans in 2007. It has been feared that this number has doubled since then.
The event is being produced by Tommy Alastra Productions, and will feature the music of Politik. The celebrity hosts are Chris Masterson, Malin Akerman, Chris Pine, Sofia Vergara, Ethan Suplee, Bryan Greenberg, Victor Rasuk, Rob Weiss, Ben Lyons, Clark Duke, Ian Edelman, Brent Bolthouse, Jen Rosero, Justin Melnick, Guy Starkman, and Darren Dzienciol. There is no coverage, but all door donations and ten percent of the bar revenue will go to Help for Orphans International.
Everyone is invited to come and support this charitable event. Trousdale is located on 9229 West Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90069.
Photos of the event will be available upon request.
