Now with reviews from over 150 security professionals, Security Scoreboard provides the security community with details on the vendors that are getting it right, and those that should be avoided.

Security Scoreboard will encourage good vendors to get better, and force bad vendors to reevaluate the way they deliver services.

Over 150 security professionals have provided their feedback on information security vendors at Security Scoreboard, the recently launched review website for the information security industry.

Companies that received multiple positive endorsements include the Denim Group, a software security consulting firm. Customers of the Denim Group described the company as an "app security SWAT team" and "secure coding gurus."

“We’re excited that our clients felt strongly enough about the quality of our work that they communicated their experience on Security Scoreboard. I think Security Scoreboard will encourage good vendors to get better, and force bad vendors to reevaluate the way they deliver services," said John Dickson, Principal at the Denim Group.

Other companies received high marks from customers as well. One customer of the security consulting company FYRM Associates lauded the company for providing reports that were “to the point and fulfilled both our audit requirements and made our CISO happy.” Other companies receiving multiple positive customer reviews include PhoneFactor for two-factor authentication, Splunk for log and event management, and Trend Micro for a range of security products.

Customers have also been utilizing Security Scoreboard to express disappointment and concerns with their vendors. The most common complaints relate to poor support, inadequate performance, and configuration difficulties. Customers have also voiced concerns relating to integration, compatibility, usability, missing features, and pricing issues.

“The security industry has been opaque for too long,” said Dr. Boaz Gelbord, the founder of Security Scoreboard and himself a practicing security executive at a New York based company. “Unbiased peer opinion is an absolutely critical element in evaluating any security product. We are excited at the strong community participation in reviewing vendors on Security Scoreboard and at the large number of CISOs and IT security managers who have provided reviews.”

Security Scoreboard collects reviews from security professionals both online and in person at events and conferences. Security Scoreboard is supported by its User Council, which consists of ten security executives at Fortune 500 and other leading companies. The Security Scoreboard User Council is instrumental in both reviewing their own information security vendors and soliciting reviews from fellow IT colleagues within their communities.
