The growing numbers of people who want to be in business for themselves, or who want to retire from their small businesses, have a powerful and innovative new Internet tool to accelerate searches and get connected with professionals who can help.
BizBen.com, for 17 years, a leading Internet marketplace for small and mid-sized companies, has been completely overhauled, setting a new standard for sites serving this industry, featuring dynamic ways to access information, streamlined navigation and an unprecedented level of user interactivity. It pairs localized searches with a full array, easily accessed, of buyers, sellers and transaction professionals.
“This is our fifth and our most exciting upgrade, since we launched BizBen.com in 1994,” said BizBen.com founder and CEO Peter Siegel, MBA. “Compared to the ‘search and match’ services out there, I believe this offers the best package of rich information and ease-of-use that is available to entrepreneurs using the Internet.”
A key feature of the site is a business opportunity section--a category distinct from established businesses for sale--which enables entrepreneurs to explore new enterprises for investment. One example is the Sandwich Spot Restaurants which, according to its founder Tom Heally, is a "franchise without a franchise." Heally’s offering enables interested entrepreneurs to establish more businesses modeled on the seven successful Sandwich Stop Restaurants in California. Each is operated independently “by and for families” with Heally’s help and collective buying power, but without a parent company imposing restrictions and requiring fees or royalties.
Also provided to site visitors is an expanded blog section featuring, among other resources, access to the schedules and podcasts of BizBen Talk Radio. The programs treat listeners to a wealth of information, how-to discussions, news and updates about the industry, and interesting interviews with experts involved with small business transactions.
“One example of what our new site can do,” Siegel added, “is when a buyer indicates an interest in a certain business, he or she is instantly provided with information about that offering and about similar enterprises, about business brokers experienced in that type of company, and with business-specific purchase tips and information."
“And our navigation tools present all of this material in a format that is clean and easy to follow.”
The site currently presents nearly 7,000 California businesses for sale, and hundreds of qualified buyers, along with a wide range of services from business brokers, accountants, attorneys, due diligence specialists and other professionals who assist buyers and sellers of small California businesses.
