Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) May 3, 2010
IndiePub Games is excited to announce the launch of their new website, http://www.IndiePubGames.com, showcasing the 3rd Independent Game Developer Competition. IndiePub is an online community for independent game developers, casual gamers and video game enthusiasts. The new website features over 300 free online video games, gamer tutorials, and most notably, the Independent Game Developer Competition.
The competition asks independent developers to create and submit their new and unique video games for the chance to win the grand prize of $100,000 and the opportunity for a worldwide, multi-platform publishing contract. Video game industry veterans and notable indie developers will award the $100,000 and the publishing deal to the creators of the best competition submission. Other cash prizes will be awarded to the developers whose games’ receive recognition within the IndiePub community. Previous winners include Cipher Prime’s "Auditorium" and Terence Lee’s "Storm". Both games are currently in development for console release in the coming months by the IndiePub sponsor, Zoo Publishing, Inc.
Aspiring game designers everywhere are invited to create and submit their new, original titles from May 1st through July 31st, 2010. During the twelve-week submission period, participants are encouraged to work communally towards the development of their new game. On August 1st, the IndiePub community will begin voting for their favorite games. Votes will be tallied at the end of the month, and the most popular games will be recognized in early September. A panel of industry experts will then review the best games before announcing the winners of the grand prize and publishing deal.
In addition to the game development competition, IndiePub is hosting a sweepstakes open to all members of the community – game lovers and game developers alike. Monthly prizes range from Apple iPads to a flat panel 3D television. “We want to show our appreciation to the public for participating in the game development process by playing, reviewing and voting,” said Dennis Chacon, Vice President of Marketing at Zoo Publishing, Inc. “Game players have an important role in helping developers craft their titles, and we want to reward them for getting involved.”
