That is my desire with "Me and My Old Man"-- to have each episode emphasize the humor, struggles and triumphs of a real father and son relationship in a three dimensional way.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) May 5, 2010
Crazy Kar Films kicked off 2010 with the official launch of "Me and My Old Man," a new comedy web series where old school values meet new school rules. The series about a humorous father and son duo was created and executive produced by Rhondahl Keith Adams, written by Adams and Chris Wiltz, and directed by Gobi M. Rahimi and Adams.
Set in modern-day Los Angeles, the comedic series follows a big-dreaming entrepreneur, Kevin Rawlins (Devon Stewart), whose big dreams lead him back to the West Coast where he ends up reconnecting with his estranged, very outspoken blue-collar father, Smithy Rawlins (Rhondahl Keith Adams). Fresh from an internship at an Atlanta radio station, and having recently graduated from college, Kevin has his sights set on the big time. He thinks he knows it all…until he has to move back in with his know-it-all Pops. It is bound to be a bumpy journey for this father and son simply trying to make it in their new roles as "roommates" all over again. Add to the mix an outrageously funny cast of supporting characters, and you’ve got a strong formula for an endless series of misadventures, schemes, complications, and outright foolishness.
Growing up without a father and being raised in a single parent home by his mother and grandmother ignited the flame for Adams to create "Me and My Old Man." "As a young boy in Dallas, Texas, I grew up watching shows like "Sanford and Son", "Three's Company", "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air", and "Diff'rent Strokes"--shows that gave me a reason to want to watch TV every week," he shares. "Through these timeless shows, I saw rich relationships develop despite generational, social and racial clash. That too is my desire with "Me and My Old Man"-- to have each episode emphasize the humor, struggles and triumphs of a real father and son relationship in a three dimensional way."
Adams and Stewart are joined by a cast that includes some of LA's hottest up and coming performers from comedians to TV and film actors, including Irene "Mama" Stokes and Lamont King. The producers have written, directed and produced for shows such as "The 14th Annual Inner City Destiny Awards", "Semi-Dead", "Jobs for Dogz" and "DMX Soul of a Man" and have been featured in films such as "Somebody Help Me" and "You Got Served", to name a few.
While gaining a growing fan base as well as industry recognition as a promising new series, "Me and My Old Man" was also awarded 2nd place in the TV pilot category at the Bayou City Film Festival.
