Giving local organizations a boost during tough economic times, Pasadena-based public relations agency iMinds PR ( today unveiled a “PR Starter Pack” – a way to offer tools and training to local startups, small businesses, non-profits and even individual artists who otherwise wouldn’t have access to professional communications expertise and resources.

iMinds PR will provide each organization with an assessment of communications needs and opportunities, a strategic plan and an initial set of tools – the handful of pieces that are at the heart of every successful PR program: a fact sheet, a bio and a plan for increasing visibility in traditional and social media targeting desired audiences.

But beyond that, iMinds PR veterans will train someone within the organization to manage the communications on an ongoing basis – how to communicate with reporters, how to write a press release, what to do with it once it’s written, how to find creative story angles and more. Local published author and USC professor Jervey Tervalon and iMinds PR founder Carla Sameth are launching The Pasadena Writing Project with a series of memoir writing workshops, while at the same time building support for an all-city literary festival they plan to hold in the spring of 2011.
