New Haven, CT (PRWEB) May 5, 2010 —
Eaton Corporation, a diversified power management company based in Cleveland, Ohio, has commissioned New Haven, CT-based Pickard Chilton (http://www.pickardchilton.com) to design its new global headquarters in the Cleveland suburb of Beachwood. Scheduled for completion in late 2012, the new facility will consolidate employees from three facilities into a single complex.
“It is a tremendous honor to be selected to design Eaton’s new headquarters on such a unique and prominent site,” said William Chilton FAIA, Principal of Pickard Chilton. “To be entrusted to create a new home for Eaton’s employees represents an opportunity for the architecture to reflect Eaton’s values.”
Nestled on the crest of a 53-acre site, the headquarters complex will offer employees and visitors panoramic views of the surrounding woodland as well as downtown Cleveland and Lake Erie beyond. The headquarters design is formed by two crescent wings that arc around a central tower overlooking a pond.
“Pickard Chilton has designed a world-class headquarters building that is forward-looking, technologically advanced, and supports our continuing growth,” said Alexander M. Cutler, Chairman and CEO of Eaton.
Eaton’s state-of-the-art headquarters will incorporate a wide range of amenities including a fitness center, conference and meeting facilities, an auditorium, cafeteria and walking trails. The headquarters design is open with floor-to-ceiling glass creating a daylight-filled work environment that features innovative, sustainable design strategies. The project will be submitted for LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, underscoring Eaton’s commitment to sustainability leadership.
