Employees of Affinity4 (Norfolk, VA. http://www.affinity4.com), one of the nation’s leading affinity-based marketers specializing in helping charities, ministries and other non-profit organizations raise funds, are teaming up to raise funds for Hoops of Hope (http://www.hoopsofhope.org), an organization started by a 9 year American boy who wanted to help African children orphaned by HIV-AIDS. The fundraising concept behind Hoops of Hope is shooting hoops for dollars. Since the organization began, over $1.8 million has been raised and used to provide care for hundreds of orphans in Zambia. Affinity4’s Hoop of Hopes fundraising campaign kicks off on May 7th in honor of World AIDS Orphans Day. On June 3rd, a basketball “shoot-a-thon” will be held and Affinity4 staff member teams will strive to meet both a fundraising and free throw goal (e.g., 1,000 free throws in 2 hours). They also will compete in categories of: most money raised best team name, most free throws, and best team uniform. In addition to the money raised by Affinity4 staff members, the company will seek donations from its customers and charity and ministry partners. All funds raised through Hoops of Hope go directly to World Vision’s Hope Initiative, which is one of Affinity4’s non-profit organization partners.
