In the midst of an American healthcare and obesity crisis where two-thirds of America is overweight or obese (240 million people), a local entrepreneur is teaming up with H.U.M.A.N. Healthy Vending to provide state-of-the-art healthy vending machines and nutritious product offerings to residents across Alexandria and Waldorf. Equipped with digital LCD screens, credit-card readers, and eco-friendly features, H.U.M.A.N. healthy vending machines provide only the tastiest, healthiest foods and drinks.

“There’s a huge demand for healthy foods right now and it’s amazing how difficult it is to find them in vending machines,” explains Dr. Pradip Sahdev, La Plata resident and local H.U.M.A.N. operator partner. “We’re excited to bring healthy foods and drinks directly to people so they can eat better with less effort.”

Designed for corporate cafeterias, schools, universities, health clubs, hospitals, hotels, and retail outlets H.U.M.A.N.’s healthy vending machines are slated to roll-out in the Alexandria and Waldorf areas in May of this year. The machines are 100% free to locations, include digital LCD screens that display nutritional tips & product nutritional info, and the proceeds generated from the machines are split between the location, the local machine operator, and causes that fight childhood obesity and malnutrition.

H.U.M.A.N.’s location development team is in the process of finalizing what locations will be the best fit for their initial machine placements in the Alexandria, VA and Waldorf, MD areas. Interested locations have until May 31st to request H.U.M.A.N. machine installations for the first half of the year.

“We’re proud to see forward-thinking residents of Southern Maryland dedicated to improving the state’s health and well-being,” exclaimed Sean Kelly, Chief Humanist & Co-Founder of H.U.M.A.N. “Many people don’t realize the significance that snacking and beverage consumption has on their diets & overall health. Kids consume up to 50% of their daily calories in school. It’s a similar figure for adults at work.”

H.U.M.A.N. Healthy Vending is headquartered in Los Angeles, CA. The company was founded in 2007 to Help Unite Man And Nutrition by making healthy eating more convenient via the placement of premium healthy vending machines across the globe. H.U.M.A.N. gives 10% of all proceeds to charities that fight childhood obesity and malnutrition. Learn more at
