Kenwood, CA (PRWEB) May 5, 2010
Guy Rabbat, president of HTC Corporation (http://www.htc-corp.com), announced today that as a public service they have formed a joint venture with Edison Innovations, Inc. (http://www.edisoninnovations.com) to develop an educational technology platform for free video tutoring on any school subject via a student's cell phone.
According to the president of Edison Innovations, Inc., Larry MacDonald, "To help with homework, KidsTeachingKids will gather and index student-produced video explanations of every problem in every textbook and make them freely accessible to any student with a cell phone."
MacDonald stated that the videos would all be open source, so they can be freely translated into any and all languages for use around the world. Videos may be shot with the video cameras built into cell phones and will play on cell phones and the web.
The KidsTeachingKids (KTK) site will target K-12 kids. By indexing videos and matching them to the educational standards, teachers can use the videos in classes free of charge. "The goal of making every child a teacher is within our grasp," said MacDonald, "and education yearns to be free."

About Edison Innovations, Inc.
Edison Innovations Inc. was founded in 2007. Using proprietary market research and development technologies, Edison Innovations, Inc. creates intellectual property on new product developments that satisfies unmet market needs. In the case of KidsTeachingKids, Edison's process detected the need to help kids with homework for free when a parent was unavailable, the need for entertainment in educational materials, the need for teachers to have access to free entertaining and compelling videos to teach key concepts, and the need for kids to have topics around which to share their learning with others.
